Terms of Service
Effective 1 September 2026
The short version
- We port in a UK mobile number and keep it active without a SIM.
- Texts forward to your verified email and appear in your inbox.
- The number cannot call, receive calls, send texts, or reach 999.
- You can port it out free at any time.
- We keep a number live during payment trouble while we try to reach you. We do not quietly release it.
The numbered sections below are the agreement.
1. Who we are
Clyde Works Limited (SC897847), registered in Scotland with its registered office at 48 West George Street, Glasgow, Scotland, G2 1BP, trades as Parked Mobile. These terms are a contract between you and Clyde Works Limited. Contact us at support@sharedmobile.co.uk.
2. What Parked Mobile does
Parked Mobile ports an existing UK mobile number to our telecom provider, keeps it active, receives SMS sent to it, stores those messages in your account, and forwards them to your verified email. The number cannot make or receive voice calls, send SMS, use mobile data, or contact emergency services. Callers may hear an unavailable message from the network.
3. Your account and number
You must be at least 18 and have authority to port and control each number you submit. Give accurate details and keep your password, passkeys, two-step codes, email account, and PAC secure. Your email is the delivery address for messages and account recovery, so keep it current and protected. We may ask for evidence that you control a number before a port, disclosure, or account change.
4. Price and renewal
Plans are billed in advance monthly or annually at the price shown before checkout. Each live or porting-in number needs a paid slot. Adding a slot may create an immediate pro-rata charge for the rest of the billing period. Removing or porting out a number stops its next renewal charge but does not create a credit for the current period. VAT is included or added as shown at checkout.
A subscription renews automatically until cancelled. You can manage or cancel it through the billing portal. We may change prices with at least one month's notice. You may cancel before the new price takes effect.
5. Your right to cancel
If you are a consumer, you may cancel within 14 days after entering the paid service contract without giving a reason. Use the billing portal or email support@sharedmobile.co.uk. If you expressly ask us to start the service during those 14 days, we may charge a proportionate amount for service supplied before cancellation. A port that has completed cannot simply be reversed, but we will help you port the number elsewhere free of charge. These terms do not reduce your statutory rights where the service is faulty or not as described.
6. Porting in
You provide the number, a valid PAC, and a requested working day. We submit that instruction to our telecom provider. Ports often complete on the next working day after validation, but donor networks, invalid details, holidays, outages, and manual review can delay them. Keep the old service active until the port completes. A short loss of service may occur during the switch. We will tell you when a port needs action or fails.
7. Porting out
You can request a PAC in the console and port the number to another UK provider free of charge. The receiving provider controls the new service and completion date. We keep the parked service working until the port completes where technically possible. A completed port ends our service for that number. If a port fails, contact us so we can investigate and restore service where possible.
8. Messages and delivery
SMS and email are store-and-forward systems, not guaranteed instant delivery. Networks may delay, filter, duplicate, reorder, or fail to deliver a message. Email providers may place a forward in spam. Do not use Parked Mobile as the only way to receive emergency, medical, safety, financial, or account-recovery information. Keep an alternative route into important accounts.
Forwarded messages may contain one-time codes or private information. Anyone with access to your Parked Mobile account or email may see them. You are responsible for the security and sharing settings of your email account and devices.
9. Acceptable use
You must follow the Acceptable Use Policy. In particular, do not port a number you do not control, use the service to intercept another person's messages, evade an account or network restriction, or support fraud. We may pause a port or account while we investigate evidence of misuse.
10. Failed payments
If payment fails, we move each active number into a grace state. It stays live and messages continue to forward while we contact you. We do not automatically disconnect or release a number. If payment remains unresolved, we may eventually end the service after direct notice and reasonable attempts to reach you. We will give you a fair chance to update payment or port out before disconnection, and keep porting available for at least one month after termination where the law requires it.
11. Availability and changes
We do not promise uninterrupted service or delivery of every message. We may maintain or change the service. We give at least one month's notice of a material contractual change unless law, security, fraud, or an upstream emergency requires faster action. If a material change disadvantages you, you may cancel before it takes effect.
12. Liability
Nothing excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or your statutory consumer rights. Subject to that, we are not liable for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when the contract began or for business loss arising from personal use. Our total liability for other loss is limited to the greater of £100 and the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
13. Ending the service
You may cancel renewal at any time and may port a number out while the service is active. Contact us before deleting an account so we can protect the number and settle any live port. We may end the service for a serious or repeated breach, fraud, security risk, supplier withdrawal, or unpaid fees after the process in section 10. We will explain what happens to messages and account records at closure.
14. Law and complaints
These terms are governed by Scots law. If you live elsewhere in the UK, this does not remove mandatory rights or your right to bring a claim in the courts available to you as a consumer. Our Complaints Code explains how to complain and when independent dispute resolution may be available.
