Privacy Notice

Effective 2 September 2026

Parking a mobile number means trusting us with messages that may be private or time-sensitive. This notice says exactly what Parked Mobile records, why, and who receives it. Email support@sharedmobile.co.uk with "Privacy" in the subject line if you need help.

1. Who is responsible

Clyde Works Limited (SC897847), registered in Scotland and trading as Parked Mobile, is the controller for the service. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office, reference ZC223604. Our registered office is 48 West George Street, Glasgow, Scotland, G2 1BP.

2. Information we use

  • name, email address, login and account-security records;
  • the mobile number you park, PAC, requested port date, provider references, port status, and port-out records;
  • inbound sender numbers, message content, received time, forwarding status, and email-delivery reference;
  • subscription, invoice, payment status, plan, and number allowance, but not full card details;
  • IP address, browser and device details, request logs, and security events;
  • support messages and privacy or service complaints;
  • if you allow analytics, fixed route names, page-performance measurements, and an internal user identifier.

Your name, verified email, security details, number, PAC, and active subscription are required to port and park a number. Without them we cannot provide that part of the service. Browser analytics is optional.

3. Why we use it

We use information to create and protect your account, port and host your number, receive and forward messages, show your inbox, collect payment, handle a failed payment without losing your number, prevent abuse, investigate incidents, and answer support requests. We rely on contract where this is needed to provide Parked Mobile, legal obligation for records the law requires, and legitimate interests for security, support, fraud prevention, and reliable operation. We use consent for optional browser analytics.

4. Where information comes from

Information comes from you, people and services that text your parked number, your former and future mobile providers, our telecom provider, service activity, payment providers, and public technical records. Senders may not know that their message will be forwarded to email. You should tell regular contacts how you receive messages where it is reasonable to do so.

5. Who receives information

We give providers only the information needed for their part of the service. They provide cloud hosting and storage, telecom porting and SMS carriage, email delivery, protection against automated abuse, product analytics, and billing and payment processing. The telecom and email providers necessarily receive phone numbers and message content to deliver an SMS as email. PostHog, Inc. processes consented route and performance events in its EU Cloud service. Our analytics integration excludes email addresses, phone numbers, PACs, message content, query strings, and record identifiers. We do not sell personal data.

6. International transfers

Some providers may process information outside the UK. Where UK data protection law requires a safeguard, we use an adequacy regulation or appropriate contractual safeguards and assess the protection available. Contact us to ask which safeguard applies to a provider.

7. How long we keep it

  • account details, parked numbers, inbound messages, and forwarding records are kept while your account is open, then deleted within 30 days of an agreed account closure unless another item below applies;
  • a port-in PAC is removed from the active request after the provider accepts it. Port-out PACs stop being displayed when the request is no longer active. Limited porting records may be kept for up to 6 years after the service ends to resolve ownership, switching, or legal disputes;
  • policy acceptance, billing, invoice, tax, fraud, and account-closure evidence may be kept for up to 6 years after the service ends;
  • expired sessions and rate-limit records are removed by their configured expiry or scheduled cleanup;
  • consented analytics events and identified profiles are kept for up to 1 year;
  • support records are kept for 2 years after resolution and service and data-protection complaint records for 3 years after the outcome.

A live port, dispute, fraud or security investigation, or legal duty may require a longer period. We keep only what that purpose needs.

8. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to our use of your information. You can withdraw consent without affecting earlier use. We may need to verify your identity and control of the account or number.

Email support@sharedmobile.co.uk with "Privacy complaint" in the subject line to complain. We will acknowledge it within 30 days, investigate without undue delay, keep you informed, and explain the outcome. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner at ico.org.uk.

9. Cookies and analytics

Parked Mobile uses essential cookies and browser storage for login, security, and preferences. If you allow analytics, PostHog uses first-party cookies and browser storage for up to 1 year to record the limited route and performance events described above. We do not use analytics session replay, advertising cookies, or cross-site advertising. Declining analytics does not affect the service. You can reopen Cookie settings at any time.
